Not all heroes wear capes...

All our staff are truly amazing, but from time to time we just can’t help ourselves and have to highlight the contributions of selected individuals.

Rachel Barber

Inducted 2019

Working in one of the largest primary schools in the West Midlands, Rachel built strong relationships with both children and staff. She was always willing to go the extra mile to bring about significant positive change in the lives of the children and young people she worked with.

Alex Hillman

Inducted 2019

Alex was the first Health Mentor to begin our work in a Virtual School setting. Alex pioneered our approach to provide sporting opportunities for hundreds of children. He also built many relationships with children and partners across Birmingham, to help break down barriers to independence and achievement for children in care.

Brian Padden

Inducted 2019

Brian was very interested in the mentoring side of Project HE:RO. He invested his own time and money to develop his expertise, then generously shared this with other staff. Brian was the first Health Mentor to graduate from the Masters in Health Mentoring at Newman University, achieving a Distinction. He now works at Bingley Grammar School, as the Designated Teacher for children in care and Mental Health Lead.

Philippe Lewis

Inducted 2020

Working in a fantastic school in Haringey, Philippe was the first Health Mentor to trial cognitive health interventions as part of our Project HE:RO programme. Working with partners in the UK, USA and Australia, Philippe ran the ‘Engine Room’ programme and helped Evolve build its evidence base to strengthen our work in this area further. Philippe is now training to be an Educational Psychologist in Paris.

Damon Fox

Inducted 2020

Damon was the longest serving member of staff for Evolve, and was an extremely popular and valued member of staff. Damon progressed from Health Mentor to Relationship Manager for the East Midlands. Damon loved to put smiles on the faces of children and staff, from visiting schools in a fox costume to leading karaoke at Conference. Damon is now Schools & Business Development Manager at Northampton Town FC Community Trust.
