You probably have an excellent teaching assistant or learning mentor who is an amazing role model for your more challenging pupils.
- Is this person trained sufficiently?
- Have you clearly mapped out their career progression at your school?
- Do you worry about losing this key member of staff?
Evidence suggests that the relationships of one significant adult in the life of a vulnerable child can help to develop essential resilience skills that combat the adversity and toxic stress that they may be enduring away from school. This member of staff could be the difference between pupils making academic progress and becoming FTE statistics.
Can you really afford to lose this key member of staff?
Would you like to release their potential so that they can have an even greater impact? At zero cost?
Evolve is now able to share its Health Mentor Training Programme with school employers so you can now employ your very own Health Mentor. The 12 month training programme is eligible for apprenticeship levy funding so the cost will not impact your 2018/19 budget. Moreover, you are also able to use your 2017/18 levy to develop more team members if you have still not spent it.
Learners are required to attend theory sessions, complete self study tasks, undertake independent reading and research and be observed in their role. Schools need to support their learner through the duration of the apprenticeship programme in a similar way to how they support NQTs.
If you have suitable teaching support staff who would be interested in this opportunity and you think that this CPD offer is an exciting development for your school, please share this leaflet with relevant staff and ask them to complete this expression of interest.
Note: You do not need to hire new staff to capitalise on this offer. Apprenticeship levy funding can be used to train your existing workforce.
